Emergency Medical Services

The Bedford Park Fire Department Paramedic Unit started in 1977 with one ambulance and a crew of 6 Firefighter/ Paramedics. Today our department has two Advanced Life Support Ambulances and our Firefighter/ Paramedics have increased to a total of eighteen.

All of our Paramedics have been trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, and various additional certifications. The EMS Department has received multiple awards for outstanding performance and teamwork by their primary resource hospital, Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The Bedford Park Fire Department provides free blood pressure screenings at the Bedford Park Public Library on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 11am.
