The Bedford Park Fire Department, headed by Chief Sean Maloy, has a first and foremost responsibility of safety to protect the
saving lives.
We serve an area of approximately eight square miles extending from Cicero Avenue on the east to the Des Plaines River on the
west and from 65th Street on the north to 71st & 77th Street on the south. We have one of the most unique villages in the
southwest suburbs due to our small residential area surrounded by manufacturing, tank farms, a major railroad switching yard,
an inter-modal facility and a hotel and retail corridor.
Responding out of three stations our department operates with a Class 2 ISO rating and provides fire suppression, emergency
medical services at the paramedic level, hazardous materials services and technical rescue operations to our community. We are
also part of the MABAS Division 21 Mutual Aid Response System. The Bedford Park Fire Department also responds as the
primary Haz-Mat unit in the southwest suburbs and we are part of the Statewide Response Plan.
Our Fire Prevention Bureau conducts fire investigations and ensures fire prevention requirements are abided by. We are the 49th
